The new MACE card (Multi Axis Control Equipment) is the first in a range of innovative new products
designed to provide simple, robust and cost effective motion-control solutions. 5 Axes of closed-loop motor
control are combined with PWM drive stages on a single PCI card. Couple this with the comprehensive and
intuitive software development kit, and you have the most compact PC-based motion control solution on the market.
"Traditional" PC based motion control solutions use a sophisticated (often dsp based)
control card housed within the PC. This is then wired to the motors via an intermediate motor
drive stage. On the MACE card, the motor drive stages are integral to the card, eliminating the
need for expensive external drives, and dramatically simplifying the wiring requirements.
For smaller motors, drive power can be derived directly from the PC power supply - or to make the most of
all 5 of the MACE card's PWM drive stages, an external power source can be used via a back-plane connector.
The MACE hardware is controllable through a comprehensive software development kit (SDK). A single
ActiveX® control provides access to the full functionality of the card, reducing the time taken to
implement your motor control system. Using the sample code provided you can get your motion control application up
and running in just a few minutes, without having to compromise on performance or functionality.
The MACE card is distributed in the UK by
Vision Dynamics Ltd. and Wye Valley Associates Ltd.
